This 97’ LOA, 19’ beam, 10’ draft classic was designed to be a charter vessel with ancient looks outside and the amenities of a modern yacht inside.
With 300 m2 of sail, she has 4 double cabins with private toilet shower and 3 crew berth. Built Chengal on Chengal, (“Malay Teak”), is extremely hard and resistant to rot and decay (air-dry density: 915 – 980 kg/m3). All through hull fasteners are silicon bronze, deck is Burmese Teak.
The building from 2004 to 2010 on Duyong Island, the traditional boat building centre of Malaysia, was documented.
From 2011 to 2020 this replica of a classic East Coast Junk-Schooner was successfully operating as a charter vessel in the Langkawi-Archipelago, Malaysia.
